Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)
Blue Light

Why Blue Light?

If you’ve spent years in the sun—on the course, on the job, or just living life outdoors—damage builds slowly. You don’t always see it happening.
We do.

Blue Light Therapy allows us to treat that damage early, before it becomes something more serious.

What is blue Light?

Blue Light Therapy—also called photodynamic therapy (PDT)—is a highly effective, in-office treatment for precancerous sun damage.

Over time, sun exposure causes changes in the skin that can lead to rough, scaly patches called actinic keratoses. Some of these can develop into skin cancer if left untreated.

This treatment allows us to target those damaged cells early—before they progress.

How Blue works.

  1. A light-activated solution is applied to the skin

  2. It absorbs into sun-damaged cells

  3. Blue light is used to activate the treatment

  4. The damaged cells are destroyed while healthy skin is largely spared

It’s precise, effective, and done right here in the office.

what to expect.

  1. Performed in-office

  2. Straightforward and closely monitored

  3. Temporary redness and peeling afterward (similar to a sunburn)

  4. Healing over several days

  5. Most patients tolerate the treatment well—and the benefit is treating damage you can’t always see.

  2. Golfers

why it matters.

  1. Why treat it now?

Sun damage doesn’t happen all at once.
It builds over time.

You may not notice it—but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.

Treating precancerous damage early helps:

  1. Reduce the risk of skin cancer

  2. Clear damaged areas before they worsen

  3. Protect your skin long-term
